Apalach Affair, the 28th novel in the Jesse McDermitt Caribbean Adventure Series, will go on preorder on Wednesday, 5/1.
Several of Dawn McKenna's "Forgotten Coast" characters will be featured in this story, and her daughter, Kat, Dawn's cousin, Debbie, and I have had fun digging into her books for character clues, and early last month, I vacationed there with my family.
The first three days of the Apalach Affair preorder will be priced at more than half off on Amazon, and the Ship's Store price will be one dollar less than that. But only for the first three days of preorder, and newsletter subscribers will get the only notification, early on the 1st.
Ship's Store preorders will be delivered at least one week before Amazon's release date of June 1. The audiobook could be available in the Ship's Store as early as next week, and again, only newsletter subscribers will be notified.
My E-store has now surpassed 1,500 eBook sales and 2,000 audiobook sales with only three problems with delivery.

Currently, it's being formatted and finished by my assistants at Aurora Publicity, and doesn't need anything more from me, except to announce it's release in about a month.
So...
I'm back to writing Apalach Affair, though I'm not scheduled to start back on it until Monday. Currently, I'm at 27,500 words, or about 46% complete in eight weeks of writing and working on Bad Blood's production at the same time.
Now that Bad Blood is completely off my plate, the rest of Apalach Affair will come faster. The next eight weeks of writing will add the final 37,000 to 40,000 words.

Great news! I'm sure it's always a big relief to see them move on to the finishing touches...
Nick is almost finished recording Bad Blood, the second in my new Tropical Adventure Series. Unfortunately, I'm a day behind on QCing the recordings, but we'll still finish before the week's out, on time.
After he masters the recording, it will move into processing for a release in late May. We can't control exactly when each store gets the audiobook, because they all have their own QC it has to go through. But the first will be my online Ship's Store. I know how long it takes. Five minutes.
The manuscript will go to formatting from here, to be turned into an eBook and paperback, then the final paperback cover will be added, and everything uploaded.
Bad Blood will be released about a week early to my online Ship's Store, in both eBook and audiobook, and exactly when will only be announced in my newsletter. Then on June 1, all Amazon preorders will also be delivered and it will be removed from my Ship's Store.
Jesse is maturing...

I just spent the evening talking with a friend that lives on Marathon, not too far from the “Rusty Anchor Bar & Grill” site near the old K-Mart… I was explaining to him your books, the Rusty Anchor, the boats, etc… He couldn’t believe that I had never been to Marathon and knew so much about it, just from your books… he was downloading your books as we parted ways this evening…lol!
As of today, Book 28 of the main Jesse series, Apalach Affair, is 39% complete and my writing is on schedule for completion by June 14, for a September 1 release. It'll go on preorder by May 1.
Nick Sullivan has the manuscript for the second Young Jesse novel, Bad Blood, and he's going to start recording tomorrow, two days early. Bad Blood will be released on June 1, and is on preorder at Amazon and my online Ship's Store.

Bad Blood is off my plate now. I just finished the proofing rewrite and sent the working copy of the manuscript to Nick for recording. But he's not scheduled to start until a week from tomorrow, so it's just going to sit and simmer for a week, while I jump back into Apalach Affair.
Here's my current release schedule for the next year. Subscribers to my newsletter pay less than half during the first few days of a new preorder. And my online Ship's Store releases new books a week early.
Bad Blood - June 1, on preorder now.
Apalach Affair - September 1, preorder starts May 1.
Jesse #29 - December 1, preorder starts September 1.

Back into writing mode today.
I've been rewriting for two weeks and keep finding myself moving the cursor up to the top, to hit Accept, and go to the next correction.
First day back after so long away, it's always a little slow. But I'm working on next week's word quota already, so I can take it slow and ease back in.
